Peter`s Sport Coffee

Peter's is the most famous bar of the North Atlantic Ocean opened in the Island of Faial, more than eighty years ago, for all navigators of the world. Inaugurated the day of Christmas of 1918, the Sport Coffee began for being one more bar between the crowded port and Horta's city. After the era of the ships of coall, the adventures of the hydroplanes and the transatlantic trips, and the ended of the blackouts of the Second World War, the Sport Coffee turned into the base of the crews of Dutch tugboats

In the decade of the 50 is when the yachts return to visit Faial and when the Sport Coffee starts receiving a great dimension. The hospitality always was its best image, passing to be the port of coat for the owners of yachts, who were making scale, considered adventurers at the time.

From 1975 with Jose Peter in command, the Sport Coffee do Peter's, as it is known is present impassively at the parade of the most important navigators of the world, of many celebrities and of an anonymous multitude that there continues finding shelter and pleasure of a refreshing drink, and the histories of its sailors.
