Middle Group: Five ISLANDS

The waters from the great Atlantic Ocean give protection and isolation from the rest of the world to the Azores Islands, located right in the middle of two continents: 1.500 kilometers separates them from the European coasts and other 3.600 from the American.

The Middle group is formed by Terceira, São Jorge, Graciosa, Pico and Faial. This five petrified magma icebergs are the summits of the great submarine range that is seated over the confluence of the three tectonics patches that cracks the earth’s crust. Peculiarities that have configured a radical conglomerated pleasantly landscape.
